The official date of Earth Day for 2014 is Tuesday April 22, but like many parks around the country, we're celebrating Earth Day at Palomar Mountain State Park on Sunday April 27 with a SERVICE DAY.
   
Register today! Space is limited to 20 volunteers.

Help beautify the park! Special "Litter Getter" program for kids 10 & under with parental supervision.
This is a self-guided activity for families with young children. No registration required, show up any time after 8:00 a.m. Free admission to the park limited to first 25 kids who say "Litter Getter" when signing in.
 Parents must sign waiver.

   
 When:  Sunday April 27 8:30 - 1:00 p.m.

What: This will be a WORKDAY to maintain and groom the park's historic apple orchard (mulching, weeding, etc.) and work on invasive plant species in the park, focusing on mullein or bull thistle.
   
 
   
What to wear & bring: Long pants, long sleeved shirt, gloves, water, hat & sunblock. Leather gloves work best for thistle removal. Closed-toe shoes or boots (no sandals). Watch the weather report and dress appropriately. Event will be cancelled in case of inclement weather.
